Maelstrom
i personally think this skill needs a nerf becuz first of all it interrupts a skill every second, secondly u dont stand much of a chance against it if ur a caster urself .. Most of the time ur also getting slowed down which makes it even harder to get out of the AoE ..
opinions? |

if not just run for it the AoE is not large and all that is required is you move a bit.... casters don't have a huge problem tbh unless your monk - but even so maelstrom is only really used in 6man+ areas (plz don't quote me on this) - so you should have a second monk available to relieve pressure that your team may be taking whilst you move... alternatively if you are a different caster type - well it doesn't matter if your monks aen't being squished... DOES NOT need a nerf - if it was used in an imba combo in say high-end PvP then sure maybe nerf it but as its only used in PvE - A-Net just don't care personally never really had an issue with it anyway - my 2cents |

Aaaaaaaanyway, Maelstrom? It's a good skill. Interrupting every second is what makes it Maelstrom. Otherwise it'd just be a weak, expensive, exhausting Firestorm. It needs to be used with snares to get the most out of it though. |

Yeah, I love heroes with Meteor Shower. They really enjoy setting it off as a sort of celebration once all the enemies are dead.

Maelstorm is a great water magic skill in PvE. It's almost always on my bar when I run water in PvE. Of course, its no better then CoP or Technobabble. But obviously, since those can't be used by monsters, players don't whine about them....

Maelstrom is the smallest possible AoE (unless you count scythe AoE), costs 25e, causes Exhaustion, and has a casting time that just screams "interrupt me pl0x". With all that going against it, it deserves to have a niche ability like constant interruption. Also, snaring somebody in this is just common sense and good tactics.
Why does this skill possibly need a nerf? |

Maelstorm is a pretty horrible skill. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say it needed a nerf...and it doesn't. |

Step 1: Move
...that's... that's actually it. If it's the interrupts that are a problem, move, the AoE is tiny. If it's the damage or you're snared in it, time a PS in between bursts. |

It needs a nerf? No way! It needs a buff imo. Currently it is not a very good skill because it does low damage and you can quickly walk away from the interrupt AOE. The interrupt only interrupts spells, so warriors, rangers and other physicals can safely ignore it.
Overall Meteor Shower is a much better skill. Another reason why Water magic generally feels underpowered and why many eles use Fire builds instead. |

Maelstrom is already a niche skill at best, and you want to nerf it...seriously? The only time I've seen it even semi-useful is against incredibly stupid bloodspam teams.

1..3 Three steps and you are out. No need to. The thing with AoE is that anyone stays inside, they deserve the consequences.
